Chris’s memoir, American Sniper, came first: a multi-million-copy New York Times bestseller that has been translated into more than 20 languages and reached readers in over 40 countries.

 

Even the book doesn’t tell the entirety of Chris’s impact. He was a SEAL, a leader, a father, a husband and, most importantly, a follower of Christ.

Chris Kyle was a Texan, a Christian, a husband, a father, and a Navy SEAL whose life was defined by a willingness to go where he was needed.

 

Over four combat tours in Iraq, Chris earned two Silver Stars, five Bronze Stars with Valor, and a reputation among his fellow SEALs as “The Legend.” His 2012 memoir, American Sniper, became a multi-million-copy bestseller, translated into more than 20 languages and read in over 40 countries, and inspired Clint Eastwood’s 2014 film. 

 

But Chris never measured his life by records. After leaving the Navy, he devoted himself to the veterans coming home behind him, and he lost his life in 2013 doing exactly that.

 

COLTON Kyle

Today his son, Colton Kyle, carries that legacy forward as the steward of American Sniper. A Christian with a deep passion for his faith, Colton took the reins of the brand in 2024 and built it on the same pillars that guided his father: godliness, patriotism, passion, service, and excellence. 

 

Under Colton's leadership, a portion of every American Sniper sale supports the Taya and Chris Kyle Foundation, strengthening the marriages and families of service members and first responders.

 

His collaboration with Dawson Knives draws from those same convictions.
