Yes! These darker areas are simply one of several possible ways an individual blade may react to the unique heat treat process that creates the Specter finish.
We are challenging powder steel (CPM-3V and CPM-MagnaCut) to perform at a level that even its creators didn't think was possible. Specter in particular is based on traditional Japanese heat treats, wherein a softer layer of steel is left surrounding a harder core. This produces a tough, flexible blade that holds an edge well.
The darker spots you see are simply that harder core showing through the softer silver-gray layer, and it is a fairly common occurrence. This "ghosting" appears in various forms on many of our Specter blades.
