Yet another superb blade from Dawson. It is the perfect piece for a secondary blade for my plate carrier.
Thank you, Dawson family!
The fit and finish on this knife was excellent, and absolutely beautiful blade! Incredibly sharp out of the box, appears to be a 600gr edge at a 17° angle, zero edge burr. This knife punches way above its weight for value. I’d say this is hands down the best blade for $ you can buy. The Arizona Copper and Blue G10 scales are a combo made for the big screen.
Not a huge fan of the sheath, retention was lacking. Ended up pulling out the rubber grommet, and having to use a washer to apply enough bending force to the kydex to hold the blade securely without. Not the end of the world though as my fix appears to have worked.
I’m sure this was a 1 off with the sheath I got. On this particular sheath, I’m unable to scout carry, as the width between screws isn’t wide enough to accommodate a normal 1.5” wide web belt. Unfortunate, but I understand why, they made the sheath as narrow as possible. It all comes down to philosophy of use, and I understand. If I had 1 ask for the sheath though, I’d ask for a small thumb ramp to have been molded into the kydex to assist with drawing the blade. This is personal preference, but I think it would make it just a little more comfortable.
Overall though, if you’re on the fence, buy it. They nailed the heat treat, and blade perfectly. I love supporting family focused companies and it’s apparent that Dawson Knives lives what they preach.
I recently purchased several Dawson knives. They sre extremely sharp, and sharp looking too. Very nice staff there.
As an avid Elk Hunter…when I first saw the add for Dawson Knives…and how it was a family owned, Christian Company…my interest was peeked. A few months later I am the proud owner of one of their quality blades…and I bought another for one of my best friends’ birthdays. The superior workmanship is second to none and I am proud to own a one-of-a-kind. Super company and they have my undying support.
Best blades/steel I have found !
Great little fixed blade. The knife and finish are excellent. Looks awesome, beautiful edge. I am used to folders for EDC but this one is small enough to pocket with the Ulticlip installed on the sheath.
Dawson makes top notch knives at a great price. I have some great brands ( Treeman, Chris Reeves, Busse, SYCO) and Dawson is right up there with them, if not better than some. I have 3 Dawsons in my collection and intend to keep adding more.

Very well explained. I have just ordered one of your Javalina knives, and was interested in the blade and handle composition. Reading about both, plus the bending-don’t try this at home-makes me even more excited anticipating the delivery of this blade. And, at 69, it’s not easy to get me excited. Mike

I’ve studied on blade steels a little for the last few years, and this article is the best simplified explanation on 3V that I’ve read. I appreciate it.

Great article, the knife I’ve been using for years is a Blackjack Tac Ops4 1095 blade that was triple heated with sct and dct cryogenic treatments. It has been extremely tough, holds a good edge and is easy to sharpen. I am interested in a CPM 3V knife but I’m not sure about its difficulty in sharpening in the field. Your blades look awesome but most are sold out, so please email me when they become available.
Thank you
