I really like this knife. I'm going to need more Dawson knives now. Its also nice to know I'm buying from and American and Christian company.
Valor in Pop,s ProCut steel
This knife arrived quite sharp, then I stropped it a little bit. Now amazingly sharp.
Valor has a very good design that is balanced in hand, curved a little bit and tip ground to make it very good at drilling, or penetrating anything.
I have not used it hard yet, showing off making thin slices of paper effortlessly, paper thin tomato slicing, general kitchen use. Soon it will get some hard use use carving and feathering for fire starter. I am well pleased with it. I am retiring from knife collecting and the Pop's ProCut Valor is a great last knife to collect. I will be carrying and using mine, not just a pretty collector item. Thank You
Full disclosure, I just got the knife a few days ago so it hasn't really put in heavy duty work, but what a solid knife. Feels great in hand and looks amazing. From what I've read about pops procut I'm sure it will handle everything I bought this for. Quality stuff as always.
This is the second time I have purchased a steadfast (within 2 weeks of the first one) and, as such, my praises remain essentially the same as documented in my previous review. All I have to add is in regards to the sheath. First of all, I do appreciate that, for some carry options, the include kydex sheath is very well made, secure, etc., I still recommend that Dawson offer a taco-style option in the case of the Steadfast because perhaps 50+ percent of its buyers will want to carry it in-pocket (unlike most of the larger knives) and, as such, taco is really the way to go. As an update of my own situation, I found that the Armatus Carry Solutions taco-sheath for the Lionsteel M4 to be a very close match. I would recommend that Dawson partner with Armatus (i.e. send them a Steadfast as a master pattern) and either refer Steadfast buyers to their site or contract them to produce them for sale as either options or independent, after-sale items on the dawson website. Whatever the case, I am still very pleased with my purchase, and look forward to more from this very fine, quality-centric company.
