    True work of functional art!

what a beautiful blade, its so hard to not just buy everything Dawson has, it is probably why they are almost always sold out!

    Gorgeous Pecos Bowie

What a wonderful specimen of a knife. All my buddies are drooling over my latest addition, can't wait for my next outing to the woods to put it through the paces. Dawson makes terrific knives (I now own 3), I'll be back for me. Thanks for the terrific American craftsmanship.

    Velvet glove

This is a pedigree Bowie. The blade shape, length and heavy 1/4 inch steel profile leave no doubt of that. But the knife does not project roughness, rather sleek quiet power, hence the 'velvet glove' with a steel fist inside. The eight inch blade makes it a serious tool with a heavy, powerful blow. You can chop with this knife. The handle at five and a quarter inches gives the balance I prefer, a little blade heavy for a solid chopping blow. The handle is long enough and thick enough to give a good grip for a large hand. Overall impresion? Sleek, smooth and deadly.

Thanks for the great review. Barry designed the Pecos Bowie just for our 2016/2017 production run, and we loved it immediately! As you said, it really has just that classic bowie look to it, and feels very capable in the hand. Enjoy!
