Double Dragon Japanese Wakizashi
All the little details...
Dawson swords are second to none in quality, function and beauty! I was startled by the striking beauty and rare art of the Tsuba at the very first glance. Holding this masterpiece in one’s hands, you feel the strength and grace of an age long past. Only a great Samurai warrior would own a Wakizashi of this caliber.
The twin Tsubas were a rare find for Barry, one he doubted would ever be repeated. A widow was selling her husbands collection of Japanese art and the glint of the golden dragons caught his eye. There were only two and he won them both. They forever belong together and Barry hoped to make a set of a Wakizashi and a Katana. This is the Wakizashi and he has already begun work on the Katana.
Barry’s Double Dragon Wakizashi boasts an approximately 18.5" blade. Traditional American quality from an American craftsman and artist! The blade is painstakingly shaped from 1/4" high carbon 5160 steel with Barry's own custom heat-treat and high contrast hard-line.
The exquisite Tsuba features twin golden dragons, artfully intertwined. Elegant and authentic, a masterpiece of function and style!
The polished Arizona Ironwood handle is a luminous gold laced with chocolate brown, fastened to its full tang with Barry's handmade Mosaic Pins, then overlaid with his signature black Interlocking Japanese Wrap.
This incredible sword comes with its own custom fitted black Leather sheath, specially designed to be worn tucked into a traditional obi or a western style belt. The overall length is approximately 27 ¾”.
