Wow, wow, wow is all I could say when I saw this rare treasure. From the moment you first see her, you have to hold her and admire her delicious curves! I refused to give her up, but alas, poverty and the greedy wolves howling at my door convinced me otherwise! It is so difficult to find such a fine piece of Damascus of this length and quality. Barry has done her justice and brought out all the beauty within. If I were a rich man!
Beauty and the Beast's elegant 25" blade is made from heavy-duty 1/4" high contrast Damascus steel, forged right here in the good old US of A from a blend of 5160, 15N20, 52100 and Nickel. The backbone of Barry's reputation for quality blades lies in his own custom heat treat, developed over a 35+ year knife and sword making career of producing tough, battle ready blades that stand up to daily use and hold a superior edge cut after cut.
The African Ironwood handle is a warm golden brown, overlaid with Barry's signature black Interlocking Japanese Wrap featuring Dragon Menukis underneath. Beauty and the Beast's Tsuba is cast from authentic Japanese designs treasured through generations. The scene depicts a crouched lion studying a rose.
This unique sword comes with its own custom fitted black leather sheath, specially designed to be worn tucked into a traditional obi or a western style belt. Approximate overall length is 34 1/4".
