This bowie is patterned after the style made famous by a great American legend, Jim Bowie. The model 96 features a 8" blade and 5 1/2" handle. It is made from high carbon, non stainless steel and is heat treated using Barry's famous differential heat treat. This produces a beautiful visible hardline, and Barry finishes the blade with his black Midnight finish, which is very similar in appearance to gun blueing.
The handle is available in your choice of Black or Antique Ivory Micarta or stabilized wood. (Subject to availability)
The American Bowie comes with a stitched leather sheath, specially sealed to resist the elements. The Bowie also features Barry's intricate filework along the back of the knife, and thumb rests filed behind the guard for positive and safe handling.
